We begin the day at the Territory Wildlife Park, a place where the incredible biodiversity of Northern Australia comes to life.

Here you’ll step into the ecosystems that define the Top End — wetlands, woodlands and monsoon forests — and meet the animals that call them home.

Get up close with curious wallabies, marvel at enormous freshwater whip rays gliding through the aquarium, and walk through an underwater world that reveals the hidden life of our rivers.

Feeling brave? You might even get the chance to hold a snake and learn why these misunderstood reptiles are such an important part of the ecosystem.

Back in the city we explore the fascinating human history of the Top End — from the deep cultural connection of Indigenous Australians to the region, through to European settlement and the events that forged modern Darwin.

We visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, where powerful exhibits reveal two defining moments in Darwin’s history:

• The bombing of Darwin during World War II

• The devastation and rebuilding that followed Cyclone Tracy

These stories show just how resilient this small tropical city really is.

Taste the Multicultural Heart of Darwin

No Darwin experience is complete without food.

We finish the day with a bowl of Darwin’s iconic Laksa — a dish that perfectly reflects the multicultural soul of the Top End.

Influenced by Southeast Asian flavours but embraced and reinvented locally, Darwin’s laksa is more than a meal — it’s a delicious symbol of the cultures that have blended
together to create this vibrant city.
